I'm looking for a FFL to do the transfer, one with reasonable fee. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Thanks everyone. I found someone to do the transfer for 30 bucks.
30 bucks is reasonable. May I ask who you found for $30? I'm in Seattle....
I use Low Price Guns in Bellevue... they do it for $30 dollars also.
There's a fellow in Thurston county who does long guns for $20 and handguns for $25

I can handle them in Clallam County if needed. I charge $25 for either handgun or long gun ($15 for LEO'S). Send me a PM for contact info.

Thanks,
Matt
I have a local FFL in Tacoma who does it for $30/long and $40/pistol. Very easy to work with.
The transfer fee isn't the problem, it's that washington wants to tax you with a "use fee" that is based off the price of the gun even if you bought it out of state. I found out the hard way :-(
Yes, you have to pay sales tax, same as if you bought a gun from a local dealer. They call it "use tax" but it's the same rate as sales tax in the area of your FFL. My FFL is in Tacoma, so 9.4%.

I still don't understand why people complain about paying sales tax, like it's something new...
Used to use LPG in Bellevue.

They jacked up their transfer to $40 + tax.

Lost me there.

Now looking for someone else, probably try someone from the Gunbroker dealer finder.

Paying an extra $40 on a stripped AR lower was the last straw.

Not many states do this. WA is grasping for any revenue they can find.

$150 on a $1500 gun is quite a bit of scratch IMHO.

The biggest complaint I have is that nobody pays tax on internet purchases from out of state (yet, and I know officially people are supposed to).

The state .gov singled out the firearms industry because they were an easy target with FFL recordkeeping.
