The transfer fee isn't the problem, it's that washington wants to tax you with a "use fee" that is based off the price of the gun even if you bought it out of state. I found out the hard way :-(
Yes, you have to pay sales tax, same as if you bought a gun from a local dealer. They call it "use tax" but it's the same rate as sales tax in the area of your FFL. My FFL is in Tacoma, so 9.4%.
I still don't understand why people complain about paying sales tax, like it's something new...
Now looking for someone else, probably try someone from the Gunbroker dealer finder.
Paying an extra $40 on a stripped AR lower was the last straw.
