So lets say I get crazy and buy all this 9mm UMP stuff and convert my Virgin USC, can I still use the stock magazines if I had to put the gun back to stock for whatever reason? I know this is a simple question but I figured I should probably ask BEFORE I cut up my brand new gun :)

After having my UMP conversion done, the lower took my USC .45 mags just fine. They were a little wobbly to the right and left (because the mag port is wider), but they locked in place and fed flawlessly.

Why do the 9mm conversion, why not get an MP5 clone instead? What are you estimating the cost difference to be? Whatever it is, I know you have to change at least the bolt and barrel, I'm all for being unique but that's a pretty big expense over just doing the standard .45 conversion and then buying an MP5 clone from somewhere.

I've got two MP5 clones, and I think the UMP in 9mm would be pretty rare and interesting. All said and done it'll probably cost me about $4000 to do the whole conversion but it'll be fun in the mean time ;)

Let me know how the 9mm thing works out, as soon as someone makes a 16" 9mm barrel I'm all over it. Top-notchparts.net is supposed to be make in 9mm barrels, but when is the issue.

As for going back to the USC config, opening up the mag area has no issue once you put the USC lower back on. Jeff

Cool, Have you checked with Adam or Gordon about a bolt, and ejector. Adam has 9mm mags on the website but that doesn't mean he has em in. Good luck, Jeff

PS. There's a 200.00 finders fee on the 9mm barrel.<j/k>
