Guys- Help a newcomer out. What is an FBI lower on a UMP? I assume this would be a USC conversion since it is semi?

Thanks

It's a safe/semi lower for a full auto UMP.

Its the lower that has only the safe and semi markings. Then there is the Navy lower that adds the full auto and then the burst that adds a 2-bullet marking for burst. Any of the lowers will work in a conversion but other the FBI lower doesn't require remarking of the selector since the little white line doesn't line up with the other lowers.

But if you send your Navy lower to AviatorDave, he will convert it to semi and you won't even see any remarking on the lower.
What he actually does is cut the grooves in the selector to work with your USC internals without remarking the selector.

It is an HK OEM lower for a UMP. A UMP lower must be used when your USC is converted, whether or not that conversion is a stock block or a full graft. As stated previously, there are different lowers, each defined by the firing control group installed. The FBI lower a Semi Auto only fire control group. Check out the different ones on hkparts.net and it will be more apparent what they are.

So, it is an HK part used in a USC conversion?
