Can anyone explain how the following could mechanically occur:

Vector V53K
Full auto carrier
Gun is cleaned & lubed
Lock the bolt back, pointing muzzle to floor, then slapping her closed
With muzzle pointing to floor pull trigger

What would cause the head space reading to vary significantly other than operator error?

On my prior thread I posted that I had near zero bolt gap & sent her back under warranty. Vector calls to say the gap is .018 after checking it multiple times. Upon her return I verify that the gap is .018. Last night is my first range visit and she purrs flawlessly thru 170 rounds full auto. Clean & lube today and check the gap and I getting very low gap, again. After a few more try's per above I'm closer to .020.

Any ideas other than sending me to Ghillie's bolt gap class?

Mike,
Measure the rollers all around at many different points. Looking for rollers tht might have flat spots or egg shaped.

Thanks Dj: would these irregularities be visible to the eye or touch?

I did not observe anything unusual with the rollers. I installed a brand new set and I'll keep checking the head space to see if the head space varies as before. Thanks!
