I have been looking at optics for my USC, I was looking at the Trijicon Reflex and EOTech sights, which are both very high quality and very expensive. I then came across Sightmark, which were much less, but didn't seem like junk. So my question to you is, should I spend the money for the Trijicon/EOTech or would the Sightmark be a good choice and use the extra money for necessities like ammo? I have no experience with Sightmark, and don't want to end up with a sight that is useless, as some of my friends have done with cheap red dots sights (I mean really cheap $30-$50). Thank you for any replies.

I was just doing the same thing trying to decide on which sights. My USC arrives this week and I went with this one which had great reviews and not to pricy under $100 delivered.

The Trophy seems like a nice little micro red dot (have checked them out before), as well as the Vortex SPARC, I think the SPARC is a bit more but vortex has awesome customer service and will stand behind their products 100%, whereas bushnell... not so much (at least in Canada, not sure if the US is the same)

I second the Vortex Sparc. I'm using that on my UMP conversion and I'm digging it. It co-witnesses perfectly with the front sight (I guess the rear aperture sight, too, but I find it a nuisance to use) and the 3 MOA dot is small enough that it doesn't obstruct/obscure the sight picture when shooting for distance. Mine's sighted at 100 yards although I'll probably be re-sighting for 50 since it shoots about 3-4 inches low at pistol range distances.

Yeah I looked at the sparc also but more than double the price of the bushnell. Seems the bushnell had the 5 stars 88 reviews is pretty solid. I'll return it if isn't good but seems as though should be sweet for under $100. I'll keep you posted. I also just picked up the itac foregrip with red laser and tac light bud in ! Pretty sick !! Can't wait to receive USC !!!

The TR 25 is a great optic and on a low profile mount on the MP5 co-witnessess perfect. I have a SPARC on a AKS47U and it also is superb plus it is NV capable and comes with a optical doubler. The battery is a little uncommon in that it is like 1/4" thick, not a standard off the rack radio shack/walmart selection. However, for my UMPs I have an Eotech on the .45 and a Kobra on the 9mm. The gun tops out at 100M so magnified optics are kind of a waste and the Kobra/Eotech have large optical surfaces and sight acqusition is immediate.

On a 45 I think iron sights would be just fine.
The USC has pretty bad sights right from the factory. I already have a custom front sight on mine, and as soon as I get the thread pitch figured out and a tap for it, I'll have a nice ghost-ring/open-pistol dual aperture rear sight for mine. But for speed really it's hard to beat a red dot sight, and accuracy.
