I have a USC45 that I want to convert to as faithful a UMP45 as possible. I have no problem sending it out to a reputable company or 'smith for the work. I am not interested in cutting corners or doing it on the cheap. It will be used as a defensive weapon and not just a range toy. That being the case, is there a builder, or a few builders who's reputations are such that they are pretty much universally considered go-to's for this conversion? There seems to be no shortage of people and places to send it, but I was wondering who the top-tier converters are.

I appreciate your advice.

T Bostic. There is no better!
This. Both G36 and UMP conversion from Tom - fast, no surprises, outstanding quality and if you decide to sell, his name is worth something - people know it was a quality job. As an aside, I have the full fused G36 but went with the stock block conversion on the UMP and I'm happy with both decisions. Best. Matt

I just dropped my USC off at my LGS with their armorer. While doing my research, I found that Tommy Bostic was highly recommended but I couldn't afford what Tommy charged (I wish I could, he comes highly rated.) When doing the conversion there are 2 ways. 1) Buy a donor stock and have it fused (how Tommy does it) or 2) Buy a stock block and attach that between the existing upper and the new folding stock.

Good luck with your research and having the conversion done.

Thanks for all of the advice and your experience. I spent a bunch of time reading about Tommy Bostic's conversions and this seems exactly like who I'd want to do my build. One thing that I might deviate from is the barrel. A cut-and-thread may be the route for me. I don't plan on a can right away, but I will have one for it eventually. It will make a nice primary to my USP45.
