ThisYou may be referring to the diference in muzzle flip and/or perceived recoil.
9mm is weaker but I find it "snappier", whereas 45 auto is a more powerful round but the perceived recoil is more like a push back/thump to the wrist rather than the snappy upwards energy of the 9mm.
I was shooting the 124gr men ammo that I use in my sp5k. It's supposed to be NATO spec.Ammo type can change everything. Were you shooting nato or +p 9mm? Or maybe your 45 ammo was slower?
