I've owned three USPc 40's. Still have two, burglar took the first...

and have put thousands of rounds through one and hundreds through the other two without a single fte, ftf or any other problem.
Absolutely perfect function.

Anyone can make a video causing ANY firearm to malfunction if you get enough crap inside. These "torture" tests are a bunch of garbage, nobody will ever need to fire a weapon with that amount of crap in it.

My USPc .45 simply refuses to malfunction, limpwristing with crap ammo even holding it "kill shot/homeboy" style it will not jam. I have 100% confidence in it as a firearm, it is the reason I'm an H&K guy (albeit a poor one at this point in my life).

Pack enough sand down my a** crack and even that will jam up.

I've talked to this guy. He's a cool guy and know's his guns but this video was just purely for entertainment purposes... nothing scientific. I think he has a video of a Glock 26 jamming after throwing it in sand. I think he does it just because that's what people want to see, they want to know their HK can still shoot like this (HK P30 Salt Water Torture Test (saltwater ocean) - YouTube) or their Glock can still shoot after this (glock test - YouTube) as if for some reason we are going to be running through water and sand with our HK's like Seal Team Six or something. Civi's like to know that their firearms can still operate in the most harsh and worst torture conditions ever... it gives peace of mind, funny thing is most of us will never subject our beloved HK's to any of this tom foolery.

If the USP compact was "less" reliable than any other high quality semi automatic on the market today than HK would have done something to change it. They took the initiave to change some internals on the USP in the mid 1990's and I have faith that they will do the same thing today if neccesary.

These kind of tests are non scientific. In short, they are meaningless. Whether the outcome of the tests are favorable or unfavorable.

And what is the purpose of burying them in the dirt? When my guns are buried in dirt, it means I am already dead. :D

The USP compact is extremely reliable. I think the real lesson to be learned here is to not bury your pistol.

Lot's of jerk offs doing meaningless gun "tests" on Youtube these days. :43:

Don't believe everything you read or see OP.

The USP has been around since the early '90's and has been established as one of the best handguns ever produced.

Anyone can induce a malfunction on ANY gun. Not to mention with reliability issues, who knows how much of that is not properly maintaining the firearm.

hahahah!

sand torture tests offer no explanation of reliability at all. You cant expect to jam a mechanical object with sand and expect it to work. Any weapons system will eventually fail.

Seriously though, are you planning on rolling around in sand before shooting your guns?

Take care of your tools and they will take care of you...

Regardless of the merit of the scientific validity of the test in the video, is there any underlying factor that could cause the compact to jam more due to foreign objects like sand? I think that's a valid question worth discussing.

Not that I see. Its the same design besides the recoil spring assembly having the bushing.

Based on my detailed (non scientific) observances of the two systems my opinion would be.........nope.
