I want to put a spur hammer on a AE date code USP Compact 9mm. Anyone have the correct HK part number for spur hammer? What about the latch, does it need to be replaced with the spur hammer? Part number for the latch if its also needed? Thanks for the help! =)

Thanks! Im moving and manuals are put away. Im assuming the AE date code latch already in the USP is a matck to the spur hammer HK part number 214301.

The above mentioned hammer part number is wrong. If you have a 2005 or newer USP compact, and want a spur hammer you will need part #214825 this is the NEW hammer. It has the slot cut in it for the newer style catch. I found out the hard way and now have to exchange it. I am only posting this because I used this thread to confirm (wrongly) that I had the right part # (and it wasn't). No biggie, but just in case someone reads this later on.

Just to be clear on the part numbers:

If your pistol has an all metal hammer on it- you need 214301 this is older
If your pistol has a rubber tipped hammer- you need 214825 this is newer

Another way to check is to look in the back of the slide with the hammer cocked. You will see on the right side the catch. It sticks out about .2-.3" and goes into a cut in the hammer on newer pistols, slowly let the hammer forward and you will see the catch go into this slot (look kinda down on to the pivot point of the hammer). If you see this your USP is a newer pistol and needs #214825.

ETA: No ones fault in here, just trying to be helpful in case someone looks this up.

#214825 does not have the cut out for the long catch. That is the one you will need for a 2004 (AE) pistol. 2005 to current is hammer #218570 that goes with new (long) catch # 219442

The manual shipped with my pistol (usp compact 9mm V1) *rev 6/09* lists 214825 with catch 214773. The catch 219442 was listed on the LEM Compact parts list. The hammer number you list isn't even in the manual (or elsewhere- first I have seen it).

I think that part number you have is for a different pistol? I put 214825 hammer on my pistol and it has the cut out and dry fires fine and decocks fine. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.
