Got a super sweet USP9mm LEM coming in and I desperately want to pair it up with a USPc9mm but I need to know what year (the date code) did HK start making the USP able to convert back and forth between trigger variants? I asked in the HK CS section but a USPc9mm for sale just popped up on the boards and I'd hate to miss it waiting for this info.

No. Early 90's USP aren't capable to be switched to LEM.

Did not know that. I did bookmark this http://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-handgun-talk/126798-question-about-early-date-coded-ke-usps.html awhile back about changes to the series. Look about halfway down. It doesn't address the convertibility issue though.

You can only switch to LEM if you have a 2-piece catch. That change took place in 1995 model.
Pre-1995 will need the 2-piece catch if you want to do the LEM conversion.
