@dragnet Do they make any of the weaker ones in black? Here are some well priced 18 rounders, but they mention nothing about the steel liners inside the polymer overmold. The clear white is a translucent polymer that flexes a little, and HK doesn't encourage using them for duty use since they could potentially bulge when loaded and cause issues. The black one is steel with plastic overmold and is basically indestructible as far as magazines go. It's by far the toughest magazine I've ever had/seen for any firearm, let alone pistols.
I'll go ahead and get a few of those 40 dollar ones as they're genuine HK magazines. Whether or not they're made like the translucent ones or like the black ones, they'll work great regardless from what I hear. I'll post back here after I find out what they are. CheersI don't know, haven't seen those mentioned anywhere. I picked up mine off the HK webstore when they had a buy two get one free deal and they finally arrived a few weeks ago after some issues with the shipping. At $62 they're still cheaper than any other store I've seen out there, especially factoring shipping.
I don't know if any magazine is worth $62 but for what it's worth they're incredible. If the price is too much and if the return policy is good, you could maybe pick up a cheaper one to see if it works for you. The original translucent polymer ones are plenty fine too, people have used them for a long time and they work. I just feel like if you're buying HK you've probably resigned yourself to expensive overpriced stuff and if you're buying magazines, may as well get the best there is.
