Unfortunately I just purchased the GG&G. But I d do a MR09, possibly two and even though I don’t own a USP Compact yet, I do intend on owning one in both 9 an 45. Thanks for spearheading demand in a niche market.

Personally, I'm a "surefire or die" guy myself. We looked into doing a TLR-type key when developing the Mk23 adapter with Lobos, but it wouldn't work due to the captive screw required on the front of the trigger guard.

You aren't impeded by that with the USP. I'd think developing a sort of drop in TLR-type key for the SureFire B-series lights might make more sense. It would bring the light closer to the gun, cut weight, reduce failure points, and potentially hold zero better if using an X400/X400V. Just a thought 😉

Great idea as well. Any chance of making an X300/Surefire key to assist the bastardized Picatinny rail on the HK45C Compact rail??? This would be incredible. Especially those wanting to do a MK24 setup.

For the HK45C, you either need to talk to Wright Armory or stick with a the XSC made for the Hellcat.

FYI Wright Armory’s adapter will set you back about $395

Cheaper to go with the hell cat or just give up on Surefire all together. I just found out they made a full rail adapter like the one for the USP for military contract but no civilian love.

Appreciate the info. That is ridiculous. i’ve spent retarded money on **** before. Only way I would ever do it is if I found a German HK45CT and started making a MK24-ish load out. Absent of the laser and going with an X300.

Hey everyone-

Wanted to give an update. I have not yet found an MR08 surefire USP compact adapter to reverse engineer. I have finalized the MR09 surefire adapter however and I'm sending the CAD file out for quoting. I don't know how big the market actually is, so I'm going to start with a very small production run of only 100 units. I am toying with the idea of making 5 of them in a RAL8000 and 5 anodized in OD Green. Mostly they will be 7075 aluminum and type 3 hardcoat anodized in black.

There is no laser etching on these, so they won't look like an exact replica, but the part is dimensionally the same as the factory Surefire part.

Here is a quick CAD drawing of it. I'll update when I have lead times and pricing from the machine shop.

I'm also toying with the idea of severely overpaying for a Knight's Armament MP5 optic mount and making a reproduction without the markings so we can get them for under $500 again. Any one interested in that project?
I'd be interested in an MR-09 replica, especially if RAL8000. Do you have any ballpark of pricing on these? I think you'll have a hard time competing with GG&G pricing and may end up well above what the MR retailed for originally.

Update for everyone:

I have shopped this part to 15 machine shops (all USA based, will not go overseas) and not a single one can get the costs low enough to compete with the gray market price. At the moment the lowest I can get it made, anodized, and packed for shipping is $195.00.
So my plans to expand this to MR08 is off the table (engineering costs are $5k to reverse engineer it) so I’ll make a small batch of 100 parts and call it a bust. I just want to recover my investment at this point and get out.
I’ve ordered my parts and it’s looking like March is when they will be ready. Will not be doing any colors other than black because of high costs to change colors for such a small batch.
Not the news you were all hoping for I’m sure.

If there is a possibility for overseas shipping for the final product I would be very happy to sign up for one.

Also, on a related note, a SureFire MR08 has popped up on eBay:

Not my listing, I have no affiliation with the seller, just came across my desk and I thought I'd share.

The same seller also had a MR09 for sale at an equally high price, byt that sold very quickly.
