Tried searching and watched numerous vids on you tube. Came up empty handed.

With the safety level set to S, if you attempt to pull the trigger, should the hammer start to engage? For the life of me, I do not remember if it did this before I cleaned it or not. I did not touch the safety mechanism when I cleaned it.

I know my mark 23, the safety lever can only be set to S when cocked. However, I cannot remember how the USP did it.

Just want to make sure nothing is a miss.

To recap, on my USP, when lever is marked to S, I can still pull the trigger a tad and the hammer travels about half way back, but not able to fire. Is this normal? When cocked, and set to S, the trigger will not move.

TIA.

The thumb safety blocks the trigger, not the hammer. That's why you can still rack the slide on safe with the hammer down.
