USP-SD Match trigger

So I finally bit the bullet (no pun intended) to do the match trigger job. I was going to send it out when I first purchased the gun. I then figured I would wait, get used to the stock trigger, then move to the match so I would notice the difference. I've put about 3,000 rounds through it with the stock trigger. I'll let everyone know what difference I notice.

It still makes me go WTF?! that HK didn't include the match trigger in the SD. I can understand skipping the O-ring on the barrel... but not the match trigger. I was hoping someday HK would just put it in the SD... nope. Been close to 20 years now... still no match trigger. Oh well.

Who's doing the install? HK?

I never understood that either. Glad it isnt just me...When I picked up my USP .45 Tac I was grinning ear to ear when I pulled that trigger...fantastic!

You'll love it!
I put a Match trigger in my 9mm Custom Combat and shot another 200 rds yesterday. Love this trigger. Love the Match + LEM Hybrid trigger on my Combat Competition even more.

skullbox, you can install it yourself. Pretty easy installation, if you can find the kit. They seem to be out of stock everywhere. Probably because the Match TRS has been out of stock for quite sometime.
I'm sending it back to HK for 3 reasons:

1. I can't find a match trigger kit.
2. It would probably take me 3 hours (realistically) to do myself.
3. To keep my existing warranty.

I'll be interested to see the difference in the trigger once I get it back. The only match trigger I have used was a friends USP45T a few times and my Mark 23 which says it has a match trigger but that's not apples to apples. Is the match trigger any different physically any different besides the over travel screw? Is it wider or flatter?

Oh yea, where does HK get off charging the same price for the 9mm version of the 9mm tactical without a o-ring barrel, tactical marked slide, or match trigger? Does anyone know why they call if the SD instead of just the USP 9T?
how much did it cost you to send to HK to get the match trigger done? i want to do this on my USP 45 fullsize.
$121 for the Match kit + $60 labor + return shipping $25-$45
how does one go about sending it back to hk for the install? i was thinking about getting a local gunsmith to do, but would much rather have it done by HK?

Call HK CS and get a RMA, then box it up and send it overnight. Will cost you $60 to ship it overnight to them.

Same trigger, with the overtravel stop screw.
How does one install the LEM + match trigger? I am really wanting one.

thanks.
This project has been de-railed for a short time. I went to (2) places and they both freaked out when I told them it was gun. The first idiot at a pack and post place said it was illegal. That I would need need "permits" on both sides and basically looked at and talked to me like I was trying to ship anthrax. After 5 minutes of going back and forth I decided NOT to spit in his face, though I considered pistol whipping him... I left. Went to a UPS store and they said it could only be shipped without the firing pin?!?!? I called HK and they said the UPS store usually won't ship it and to try a different shipping place. I sent in a GSG for repairs no problems before...

WTF?
IF you have an RMA from HK you need to go to a UPS Package counter at a center or a HUB. The UPS store is just a franchise and they will not even ship gun parts. Been down that road...
Find your closest UPS customer counter/package counter and as long as you ship it NDA you will be just fine.
Ive used fed ex world service centers before.
Wow, this is amazing. So what is RMA and NDA?

And skullbox, that was pretty fun man, I had a good laugh from that one.

Thanks.

However dumb this sounds, it is absolute truth. If you use UPS, it has to leave from one of the actual shipping centers, not one of the bush-league UPS "stores." It is a huge hassel for most. Don't forget, you can always have an FFL holder ship it for you. They don't have to play by the same rules that you do when it comes to mailing a gun. Good luck man, and I hope it turns out well.
On another note, will HK sell you just the parts kit?

Return Merchandise Authorization (Google it for details; basically you call a company and they authorize a shipment to them in advance so it can be tracked) and NDA is just next-day air.

It shouldnt cost that much if I live less than 50 miles from Colombus, GA right?! or is that just some standard charge for shipping firearms?!

Check out the overnight rate from UPS or FedEx. That will tell you how much you are going to pay to ship it.

Madre de Dios! You could buy a whole 'nother firearm for that much.
