I am looking to get a thread protector for my USPT .45 and do not want the HK model.

1. Does anyone know if "AutoBurst" is still in business?? I have tried contacting them for two days without any kind of response.
2. Or does anyone know of another company that makes a similar thread protector to theirs. i.e.: with an o-ring and actually covers/protects the crown of the barrel???
3. If not has anyone tried the model from AAC???

Help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

I have a TROS for my USP Tactical 45. I have to tighten it after every magazine dump. I have tried o-rings as has been discussed here many times with lousy results. YMMV.

I would keep trying to contact AutoBurst - at least their TP looks to ship with an o-ring.

I have the TROS also, but I have not had a problem at all, I do use the "O" ring...
Have a good one...Tater2...

Does the TROS have an inner o-ring or do you just put one at the rear of the threads? Also does it cover the crown or not?
Thanks

i have the factory thread protector on (2) of my .45's. was wondering should i just get a a proper size o-ring and fit to barrel and hand tighten? or possibly use some type of low level /low tensionTHREAD LOCKER like loctite blue. i dont mean smear the threads but a small drop 180 degrees opposite of one another,so i may remove at a later date. sure as hell dont want that spinning off into space under a mag dump!

Looks like maybe Autoburst is kaputz. There website is no longer available as of 5-9-12. And I was just about to order a flash supressor for my 45.
My tactical came with a flash suppressor, I am currently using it as a thread protector but not firing it with it on. I am waiting for my AAC thread protector to come in, once it does i will be selling the flash suppressor if your interested.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it. I like the 'tuning fork' design as opposed to the one that has sharp points that are presumably for poking someone to death when you run out of bullets.
