Thought I would make a comment about an ammo issue I had recently with my well broken in USP40c. Bought it new a couple of years ago and have run a couple of thousand rounds of various brands of ball and hollow point through it. Up until a couple of weeks ago I had never used Sellier and Bellot. Went out to Front Sight for a 4 day defensive handgun course and bought 500 rounds of Sellier and Bellot to use for the class. Unexpectedly, I experienced at least 15 failure to feed malfunctions with the 500 rounds. Naturally I was really concerned that my "baby" was letting me down, so after the second day of class I drove over to Wal-Mart and picked up 100 rounds of Winchester White Box.

The following day, the third day of class, I ran the entire 100 rounds through my 40c without a single malfunction. After the 100 WWB rounds, I went back to the S&B and had a repeat of the intermittent failure to feed. The cartridge appeared to get hung up on the feed ramp and could be cleared only by stripping the magazine by pulling it out and then racking the slide. The magazine would not eject on it's own because the cartridge was hung up between the mag lips and the feed ramp on the barrel.

This post is just a FYI if you are considering Sellier & Bellot, it might be a good idea to try it out before buying a larger quantity like I did.

Interesting... I got some "subsonic" Sellier and Bellot 9mm to shoot suppressed. I was also getting a ton of problems, mostly failure to eject. I was shooting a USP-SD, and I bought a few other types of ammo to try tonight... We'll see how it goes. I was already leaning towards it being that specific ammo because I haven't had any problems with the gun using other ammo. Although, that was the only ammo I have tried while running suppressed.

So I shot my USP last night with 147 gr. lawman 9mm ammo. It was indeed subsonic and cycled just fine. This proves that it was a problem with the Sellier and Bellot ammo. Like I said, it worked fine when the gun wasn't suppressed. Once I put a can on there, no go. Strange...
