I just saw this movie this weekend and it is awesome! I didn't much care for the similarities between blowing up parliament and the WTC that I'm sure a lot of us felt but we must remember that V was fighting his corrupt and tyrannical government, not some foreign power that supports your family. Hopefully the world never sees times such as those where voracious and vicious villians violently violate the very vulnerable yet volatile victims. The HK spot, an army of infantry soldiers equipped with G36E's. I love those things!

V for Vendetta, I highly recommend!

The movie very deliberately strays from the original V for Vendetta in order to spit on the American government, Bush, and the Catholic church. None of the aforementioned are immune from criticism, but they also are't Nazis or tyranical religious fundamentalists, which is what the film paints them as by implication.

Really, don't get me started into details.

It's a shill.

At least the G36 came out in force.

Did you also notice when they pull pistols at someone at their face, its a P2000? :) I had to rewind it once to just to be sure, but it's definitely a P2000. :)

But I definitely like the concept of the movie of how it's a social critique of how easily we could fall to a police state and propaganda/disinformation by the state.

"Beneath this mask is an 'Idea' Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bullet-proof."

When I see this movie and Casino Royale they are must see movies almost every time.

Anyone have a better image of the above scene (where V gets shot up in the sewers)? I was having trouble identifying the handgun the soldiers were using. Looks pretty big, I was hoping it was a MK23, but the profile doesn't seem like it is.
As best I can tell, most of them are using Beretta 92F Inox pistols with some sort of weird prop attachment (compensator plus under-barrel flashlight). Others have full-size Glocks (17s, probably) with tactical flashlights, and then there's the two guys nearest to Creedy who have MP5Ks with 15-round mags (visible in the screencap I posted earlier).

Here is the IMFDB page (which I recently updated):

This movie really sucked. Hehe. ;)
In terms of movie plot yes. However, it regained itself to net zero in the end by making good social commentary and featured all those HK's. Worth a rental. :p

I loved this movie - it made it to my permanent collection-and Im sorry but natalie portman in the school-girl outfit caught my attention - and while their were some terrorist similarities I think there is a big difference in this movie where as the main characters are fighting for their primary freedoms(including freedom from creedys's "gestapo') than a middle eastern terrorist kiling non-combatants because his religion states that there is no room in the world for any religion besides his own -as for hk content when we saw it at the movies and all the soldiers lined up with the G36's-I got excited-and all I got from my gilrfriend was a shhhhhh! I know and dont care:)

Well, yes, but this movie does have a fairly idiotic political message that implies a belief in the 9/11 conspiracy theories, amongst other things.
