Just picked up a V93 with what appears to be a low serial number.
Is there any rhyme or reason to their numbering system, date of
manufacture, problems vs number range, etc? Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Have not shot it yet but it looks like a nice piece so far.

v93

I have a V93 with a 05XX S/N that I got from Vector in 06. Runs great! Good bolt gap, US made barrel, Malyasian parts.
I finally got a chance to shoot mine the other day. 200 rounds and no issues.
I think I scored on this deal.

I used to build them. The numbers are supposed be somewhat in order from lowest to highest. Did not always go that way because sometimes they got pulled in the wrong order or had problems so had to be set aside until they got around to fixing them.

Well got a reply from Vector Arms, quite surprising on two counts.
Hello,

The information for these are as follows:

First rifle serial number is UAO186 and the receiver is marked:
Vector Arms
CSS
Bntfl UT
V-93 cal 223

This V-93 Rifle was shipped from us on 1/3/2012 it is still under warranty.

Second rifle is UO228
Receiver is marked:
Vector Arms
V-93 cal 223
NSL UT

This V-93 receiver was shipped from us 10/14/2003. Looks as if it was shipped as a receiver only. It is not covered under warranty.
So,the rifle that looks new and is unfired is not a factory rifle and the receiver is almost ten years old and the one that looks used is still under warranty.

Even worse is,on impulse I put both rifles as well as a couple of other rifles up for sale, and someone has bought both...

Sorry for the thread resurrection, but it has saved me making what would have been a misguided purchase. I saw a V93 today in a local shop with S/N U0233. That's just 5 off the number on your "sold as a stripped receiver" rifle. A lot more research will have to be done as far as the provenance of the receiver and the builder before I even think about proceeding. Thanks.
