VP grip wraps

867 7
Almost afraid to post this.
Hopefully it's the right sub-forum.

I'd like to wrap my VP grip (Talon) just to see how differently it handles during a competition. What are your experiences with the rubberized wrap as opposed to the gritty type?
I can't help but think the rubberized wrap would get slippery with sweat, etc. I know there are different courseness of grit wraps available, but I don't need 60 grit grips. Are they also a rubber substrate with the grit impregnated in them?

Thanks!

I like the rubberized Talon grip. Never had an issue with it. But then, I'm not doing competition shooting. Just for grins, here's a pic of mine wrapped.

I take a bicycle inner tube and cut it up and then slide it over the grip. Tough to slip on, but it keep the grip from slipping through sweaty fingers, and is so cheap that when it gets too rough looking just replace it with another section later on. It is so thin that it doesn't really add any extra dimension to the grip.
