Your cut and file job looks good. The slide release will be tricky since it's the side that is attached to the axle. You will have to leave some of it for it to stay assembled and function.

The only thing I want to know is why do want them gone?

More than that, the left side slide release is also the side which engages the slide itself.

That being said, if OP is really still going down that path, then file the serrated surface down.

I wanted to remove the right side slide release as it just looked flimsy and I don't need it. Almost looks like one could snag it on a shirt and accidentally rip it off. (Not real world, no evidence to back that up) but since I don't need or use it I wanted it gone if there was a factory part to get the job done. Since one of he great members of the board told me it was a file job it's was no longer something I wanted to do.

That was my reason, on the mag release sometimes I use both paddles (full mag), even if I did not it I no issues with the paddles, though I must say that was a nice job removing one and it looks like one could just buy a new one if one wanted to put it back to factory.

My worthless 2 cents.

Yeah, I'm not lefts and the slide lock is just flimsy and in the way. If they made a simple replacement that looked nice I would swap it out asap. I wouldn't be able to trim it and have it look nice.
