So I am aware that HK is now using the 40 caliber spring in all V9s. I have one of the first year pistols and it has been %. Any reason I should change to the new spring?

If your pistol is reliable wth the ammo you use, I wouldn't worry about it.

Mine with the new spring worked fine with WWB. May not be the case for everyone.

Where do the spent cases land ?

I have a early vp9 with the gray guns treatment.
Running suppressed is where the slide will not go back into battery.
Upgraded to a stainless vp9/40 guide rod from hkparts and never had an issue since.
if your wondering what silencer rugged obsidian and octane 45....

This is a disposable part. I would buy a few to have on hand and I would change it at 15k rounds.
Last I checked, the complete assembly is only $27 from HK USA.

My VP9 drops the spent case almost at my feet. A little to my right and rear.
Red spring. I'm liking it.

I've got the original red spring and my cases bounce energetically off the lane divider and hit me about the head. They actually quite frequently stick the landing on my shoulder.

It's already on your mind, I would upgrade the spring,it is rather inexpensive. It may be a product improvement so why not take advantage of it.
