I didn't see it mentioned anywhere else.

Distributors have these pistols now and dealers should be taking delivery next week.

With the Premium Membership you get advanced notice on all the goodies  http://www.hkpro.com/forum/hkpro-s-hot-scoops/258041-new-toys-rolling-out.html
Its on the list, but no rush, so perhaps next year. SP5K and other goodies come before it, though I would not mind one.
Does anyone know if they did anything different internally for suppressed use? RSA different? Just in case I decide to add barrel in springs to my current VP9. I see no reason to have two when so many other HKs have yet to come home to my safe.
What's the difference compare to the regular VP9 except the threaded barrel?
What's the barrel thread pitch?
I saw it on the HK Facebook page-very excited about it and already told my dealer the first one he gets is mine!
It does have a beefier RSA .
That all besides the threaded barrel?
If so RSA/barrel is my cheaper route since I don't need a second VP.

Not according to HK. From the website description:

Threaded barrel “Tactical” models have been added to the Heckler & Koch VP series. Except for their threaded barrels, these variants are identical to standard VP series pistols; only their weights and lengths differ due to the longer and slightly heavier threaded barrel.

Yes, but is that accurate type? It would not be the first omission to happen on the web. We all know that if its on the wen its real, right?
If it were just the barrel, I wonder why it took them so long in testing then. Timing a beefier RSA accounts for the testing. Threading the end of a barrel does not. But then again Oberndorf does as it pleases.
I'd love to hear from an HK Certified Smith or HK themselves.
I do realize that with some HKs, then indeed do not change the RSA, so its possible, either way. However, I have always considered the VP to have the lightest RSA of all my HKs so I question if that is capable of suppressed fire.

That statement is true , kinda . The VP9 Tactical is using a VP40 RSA .

Now that I can understand.
Per my conversation with the HK parts & service department last week while ordering an extended rail for my MR762, you'll be able to purchase a threaded barrel for the VP9 from HK USA within "a couple of months". Other than the word 'Tactical' etched on the side of the slide, that is the only difference from the VP9 LE model that comes with night sights and the extra mag. I'll just be getting the threaded barrel when it's available... nice to have an extra one.

I realize it's not apples to apples, but for what it's worth, my P30 functions flawlessly suppressed with the HK P30 threaded barrel and original P30 RSA. 1,000+ rounds suppressed with Ti-Rant 45 (with 9mm piston) and 0 malfunctions.
Cool, thanks for posting. With that music buildup, I thought they were about to drop some HK dubstep with some action video, but nothing. What a tease..
