Yep, let's compile here:

Made in Germany
Shorter frame for VP9K, Longer slide for VP9F
"New" (Maritime style) slide serrations
Index points on either side of the frame
Enhanced slide stop/release
Enhanced takedown lever
Re-contoured grip area
Reprofiled trigger guard (looks like the one on the VP9sk now)
Removed finger grooves
Flared magwell
Redesigned magazine base plate

I think that just about covers what we can see from the outside.

Is the take-down lever different? I cannot decide.
But certainly a flared mag-well, which I think is the best enhancement I have seen so far.

Also, I don't know if people are going to like that new slide stop. It is larger than the old style. I think you will see more people complaining about the slide not locking back, because they are hitting the release.

Good point regarding the slide stop; at least it's something that can be changed if the user desires, although not the easiest thing to do.

Another thing is that there is nothing so far regarding the SK, L, or Match models. I guess those could come later, as they did with the 2020 refresh. I also don't think HK would release a new version of the SK so soon after the CC9, so it makes sense to give it some breathing room.

Granted Glock kept the G26/27, Sig eliminated the SC as they would be competing with their own newer products (the micros/smaller guns). Yes I know people like what they like etc. but in the big picture I wonder about competing with yourself in the same space. It would be like Chevrolet making two different sports cars like the Corvette. Or maybe it’s more like a Camaro and Corvette…one of which I believe was discontinued recently lol.

Also, it is certainly made in Germany. Early rumors were that production of the VP9 would be moved to the US upon the update.

Further, it also looks like it is proofed in Germany, where the current VP9 is proofed in the US.

I don't think we will see an update of the Match. And maybe not the SK, at least for a while. I don't think it would help the SK line that much.
As for the L, that would just require putting the L slide on the new frame.

And on that note, and for that reason and along with others, I doubt HK made any changes to the internal mechanism, other than maybe some nickel plating. But I could be wrong....

Obviously the quality is the same on the US-proofed guns but I like seeing the stag horn stamp.

I agree overall, particularly with the Match and "L" models since they already sell the slides separately and the biggest differences are the frame. Also, those two models have the slide cuts that make the new serrations somewhat pointless. As you said, by what we can see, the biggest changes are in the frame.

I would like to see the SK get updated eventually for continuity, but I am not in a rush to update mine so I suppose that makes your point regarding that model.

Eh, it's just not the same with it being on the bottom of the frame. I wish HK took Walther's approach to the newer marking requirements:

(Admittedly a minor complaint / first-world problem)

That P99 Final Edition truly is one of the best looking striker guns.

Damn. If this pans out it could be an HK home run for me this year.

The K would be perfect for my heavier CCW as I always carry the SK with the extended mag anyway.

And the CC9 is going to replace my PPK M2 for light CCW.

My only gripe is that like the grooves on the front strap, but I can live without them. I do wish the grip / frame supported changeable front panels like the sides and back, but I can see how that would decrease the strength of the frame.

The reason for those rumors was that the ATF was allegedly hassling HK about the points list. It’ll be a big plus for me if it’s German-made/German-proofed, but mainly for uniformity with my other HKs and because it might mean something has changed for the better with regards to the ATF’s GCA-induced import bull. Otherwise, I was actually excited about whatever HK USA would come up with. If nothing’s changed, I wonder what they did to this new VP9 to make it importable as a German-proofed model, or if it’s just that there will be two production locations for the same gun (i.e. the German one in the video is a facsimile but isn’t the one we’re actually getting). Despite being very similar to the VP9, the Walther PDP has been German-proofed and okay to import for a long time, even while the German-proofed VP9 (excluding Match) hasn’t been. The reason this new VP9 strikes me as even more strange from that standpoint, is that I just saw a Walther PDP (actual full-size, not F-Series) without proof marks (meaning it was assembled here).

I don't know all of the details, but proofing shouldn't make a difference for importation. I mean, there are plenty of German-proofed VP9sk pistols out there.
