Looking at used hk pistols. made a phone call To HK and I was told only original owner has the warranty. Odd that a
Pistol costing 1000 only comes with that. If that's the case, is it worth it to buy a used pistol or an unfired fired pistol from a previous owner for 10-15% less with no warranty rather than new with a warranty . reading the forum, HKpistols do have some repairs. I was hoping they had a warranty like M&P'snd Ruger. Lifetime to all.

Registration card must be sent in when purchased originally and must be bought from authorized dealer. He read it right from on line

So you called HKCS and told them the serial #. They then checked it against their database and told you that the gun has already been registered under another owner so no warranty if you buy it. Is that what you are saying?

I have never heard of HKCS denying warranty service to anybody.

No.... I told them I was looking to purchase a hk45 from an individual. The response I got is whAt I am saying. Look at the website, it's just what he told me. Do you know different. If so, show me. I am hoping I was misinformed. I called when I saw a posting on gun broker. I really don't want to buy a pistol, not test firing it and if something is wrong, have a question with warranty. so I called to get answers and informed him the purchase I was going to make. asked about warranty policy.

I posted this to find out how the Hk warranty works and was hoping someone familiar with their policy could shed some light. Yes, people do fill out warranty cards but that's not the question.the question in HOW the policy is looked at by HK. If it's not under warranty, I would rather spend a little more for a new one WITH warranty.

I've been taken care of for service/parts breakage every time it's come up (which isn't often). New guns, used guns, used guns bought from a private individual...didn't matter.

I asked about sending in a proof of purchase/warranty card with my gun for service, and they told me don't bother, if it's HK and not obviously mistreated they tend to take care of it.

That is what HK CS has always told me. That if HK made the pistol they will warranty the pistol no matter how many owners it had. I have not seen a warranty card included with new HK pistols for some time now. The registration is now done on line. Bill
