They were tan not fde. That picture has been adjusted a bit.

I had what was available, back in the day...and never saw a tan compact for sale. I had green, black, gray/blue, and stainless.

@igs as @HK12Step quoted (that's my entry he's quoting), yes, 500 desert tan USP compacts were made. Whether the one in your picture is one is debatable. It could be that the photo was color enhanced. But anyway, yes, they exist. @mmissile looks like you missed out. They come for sale on GB from time to time.
