Was It Just My Imagination?

I was shopping last week at my LGS to possibly replace my Sig P239 9mm with a P2000 V2 LEM 9mm (V2 &V3 are only ones approved in CA). Because of my experience with my first H&K pistol, my BF dated USPc .45 SS in V1 and not being able to really like the V1 even after break in (I've been a DA/SA Sig guy for years), I converted it to a TGS LEM. Now its one of my favorite EDC. The LGS only had P2000's in V3 DA/SA for me to handle and check out.

After handling and dry firing for quite awhile, it seemed to me that the V3 on the P2000 was significantly nicer that what my USPc DA/SA had been which is why I converted to LEM. It appeared enough improved that it caused me to pause and reconsider if I really wanted the LEM (which needed to be ordered) or I could be happy with the P2000 V3 DA/SA. Well, I did order the V2 LEM because of my experience with my USPc.

Here is my question. Was I just imagining the difference in the P2000 DA/SA over the USPc DA/SA? Was it an anomaly? Is the P2000 DA/SA REALLY better? Will appreciate your input for my future purchases (I think I have the disease).

I have only shot usp-c DA/SA and P2000 SK DA/SA and the DA on the P2000SK seemed heavier.
Has the P2000 in the shop been demoed long? Maybe it's been lapped in from all the dry-firing.

This has mirrored my experience, if I am going DA/SA I would choose the USP Compact over P2000.

Good question! I no the former manager of the LGS and he could probably give me a good idea how much their new pistols get handled and dry fired before sold (general idea anyway).

The P2000sk I tried was only in LEM so didn't get to feel it to see if it was different from the P2k.
I recently shot a P2000 V3 in 9mm...I own 2 USP's V1 and prefer the USP pull, but my USP's have a combined 28k rounds on those triggers and the P2k was still working through its first case of ammo

I think waht you are noticing is the ergonomics of the P over the USP. Even just being able to change the backstraps on 2K. Combined with a slightly slimmer grip, is probably getting your grip/trigger finger in a more comfortable position.

Pick up a P30 in V3 and see how that tickles your fancy?
I'm in occupied California as well. My first HK was a p2000 v2, second HK USPc v1---both gone. I now have a p2000v3 40s&w and it has the best trigger of the 3.
