Weapons in Cold temperatures

691 Views 7 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Brad4065
Quick question,

Long story short, i will be leaving many of my weapons to sit for the better part of a year. Over winter. In Alaska.

How will cold temps effect my weapons in a safe? especially polymer guns.

Any insight on this would be great.

thanks

Give the pistols a nice thin coat of grease on the exterior and well oiled on the interior. Seal them up in something air tight. I keep mine in a ZIPLOCK bags inside PELICAN cases when they're to be stored for awhile.

I'm in northern AZ where we get snow, heat and daily humid monsoon rains during the summers. I have a heated rod in the safes as well as tubs of desiccants which get changed monthly. Not a hint of rust on mine.
