I'm kinda new to HK's...but know enough about them now that I've been on this sight for a couple of months. However, i just realized that I might be interested in buying an hk45 and I don't know how to describe it properly but I'm not talking about the newest style of hk45 with the nice grips like the p30's but the one that looks closer to the p2000 grips. When I looked for them, all I could find was a hk45 ct on gunbroker and nothing on gunsamerica. Are these things like rare or something or what???

They arent rare so to speak, but unless you find a good dealer HK's are rarely in stock and as soon as they show up guys like us on this board pounce on them! HK's arent like Glocks/Springfield XP's, they are still a niche market and sometimes you just have to order what you want and.....WAIT, and WAIT, and WAIT...
I have had good luck with all my USP purchases in that I had a great local dealer that had good connections with HK's and stocked a large amount, relatively speaking, so I only had to order one and it came in a week later.
My local dealer in the Cleveland area has a large stock of HK45C's as well as USP's so they are out there.

Sometimes you just have to wait for quality. But I am sure that all on this board would tell you that it is well worth the wait!

Good luck!
ok so whats the story on them?
Tater217, what's is the name of the local shop if u don't mind.

Not sure what story you are looking for...dealers arent going to shell out the cash on high end pistols just to have them sit around the shop if the market isnt there. IE, most customers are looking for other less expensive pistols.

HK just doesnt pump out the numbers that the other pistol makers do to the public, they are and have always been primarily a LE/Military contract company and that is where they put the priority. It has always been that way. You can eiher keep scouring the internet or just place an order at your LGS and wait.

HK Bear,

Fin Feather and Fur off Bagley and Stonewall shooting range off 77 in Brecksville. PM me for directions if you need them.

If you want one, get an order in with Cross Creek Guns. Mike is a member here and provides excellent service at great prices.

Personally, I wait until Top Gun Supply has them in stock In Chesterland Oh. Stonewall and Fin will charge over 100 dollars more then Top Gun.
In the event you saw prototype hk45 fullsize with the p2000 style grips and are looking for that, you're out of luck.
Cross Creek would be (and is) my first and last choice when buying HK sidearms. If he can't get it, it doesn't exist. He'll beat Top Gun's prices, too.
I always laugh when I go to the LGS and the case is crammed full of glocks and sigs. And they have maybe 3 or 4 HK's. When a manufactuerer is pumping out that ratio of guns the quality has to suffer at some point. Thus glock and their gen 4 issues, and the fact Sig is a shell of its former self quality wise. I've always found the fact that i usually can't just walk in to a store and get the HK I want right away as a good thing.
By your question I can't tell whether you want the fullsize HK 45 or the 45c. I own both and would recommend the full if you are not concealing it.
Buy them all.

Keep an eye on the for sale thread they pop up occasionally - if your quick it'll be yours.

There's an HK45c sitting at my LGS for $950...and I am on the fence about what to do about it. This thread makes me feel like the decision should be clear!

If its new, pounce on that like a spider monkey!!!!!
It is new...I decided against it though.

However, I didn't decide against ordering a P2000sk LEM from Bud's. It's the better choice for the mission. Hopefully the group buy HK45c comes through and I get a cooler gun at a lower price!

As with all things in life, timing is everything. I have no idea why but being on the consumer end of the supply chain for the most part, I too have noticed that a recent downturn in the availability of the HK45 and Hk45c (your particular interest) has been going on for most of the last 2 months. When I was 1st in the market for an HK45 a search on GB would result in about 25-28 guns, once i filtered out all the USP's that is. Now I am lucky to get 2-4, and nothing on the HK45c. It is odd, but not your imagination either.

And if you want a CT model message me. I traded one at my LGS awhile back and I think it is still there...
