It looks like it took the mr556 6-12 months to satisfy the 'must have at any price' crowd and settle down to the point that it felt like dealers were not trying to gouge the buyer.

With the higher price on the 762 there will be many fewer buyers in the market, and the price settling should happen quite a bit sooner.

3500 + tax at the lgs. I paid 2.1k and a complete PSG1 lower.

Remember, they are never going to be cheap. Although dealers are coming off the $4K MSRP, I doubt you'll see prices drop much below $3500. If you're holding out for a sub $3K price for a new one, I don't think it will happen.
