I just bought a Cohaire CA94 Rifle and wanted to get the tele-stock for it.

I can kinda understand why original HK tele-stocks are so pricey as to the rarity. But even the generic aftermarket stocks are $280+

Why are they so pricey? I mean it's two pieces of metal and a butt-pad that slide in and out of a rifle. The stock costs nearly 30-40% of the rifle itself. The side-folding stocks are like $100-$150.

Is a generic stock going to be a P.O.S.? I can't imagine them charging that much, and then having a weak stock with too much flex.

Unless there are several factories pumping out these parts, demand will be greater than supply. For a clone maker to break even with tool, time, materials, and research, the price is going to be pricey.

I suppose.

I guess I miss expected that after the sunset and before any new ban that these would be raining from the skies from different manufacturers, just like you can buy AR-15 collapsible stocks all day long for like $50.

Much smaller demand for them I suppose, oh well. S#!t happens.

The only decent amount of parts were either from HK, Turkey (MKE) or Pakistan (POF). I believe the Paki plant was damaged from an earthquake a few years ago.

HK does not rely on civilian sales, especially long guns to keep them in business. Fortunately for me, I'd be completely broke if HK did so. HK still makes the 53, MP5, PSG1, and MSG90 in the 90 series guns, at least for now.

The reason why AR parts are fairly reasonable is because the AR platform is really popular at this time. I see several brand new AR manufacturers everytime I pick up gun magazine.

Expanding on jfk's post - all you have to do is look at the numbers -

There were just 15,000ish HK94s imported into the US over a 10 year period. There are literally millions of AR-15s in civilian circulation. With only 15,000 HK94 units, they just can't support a huge number of mfgs making parts for them.

AR-15s have dozens of companies making parts and accessories for them. If you haven't been to one lately, just look around at the distributions of rifles at the next gun show - the ratio may be as high as 1000:1 AR-15 variants vs. HK guns, and that includes real HK and the clones.

They are quality steel if made by hk. They are time cosuming to make. And they are just tough as they can be. As a footnote you can get a B&T sidefolder and they are actually more comfortable and just as ergonomic if not more. They tend to run about 225 from DSarms. I have one on my mp5k and I love it.

Thanks for the info guys. Oh well... growing broke for toys.. good times :44:

This seems to be the best price I have found for a new one.. $265 for the tele-stock.

http://www.shop.black-market-parts.com/product.sc?categoryId=2&productId=28

I have no clue if it's a well made model though.

I'm excited to get the call from my FFL for my first HK rifle platform.

Only ever had my USP 9MM before this out of the HK world.

I already really want an P7 now but yikes $650+!!

$265 for a US made A3 stock? Meh. Look around every day and you can find one for just a little more that's a real German HK stock.

Yah I saw one around for $400. I was checking all the websites that you posted for all the various parts that are out there.

I might for for the real deal, but the A3 style, what is the name of the model with the thicker buttpad.. and it's extended farther while collapsed.

I prefer the flatter design.

The thicker one with the buttpad extension is the "F" model. "F" as in French. The French ordered a bunch of MP5s with upgrades to allow it to better handle +P+ ammo. So any time you see A3 stocks, bolt carriers and heads, or other parts with an "F" after it, those are MP5F parts. They're good parts, and more expensive than the plain jane ones.

After all, since they're French, they've never been fired, just look for scratches from being dropped. Yuk, Yuk, Yuk.

Hahaha silly French. Why the huge butt-pad? awwwww is the recoil from a 9mm too rough for you?! LOL!

I'm going to order the original HK A3 from hkspecialist.net for $369

Holy crap this site is selling it for $595!?!?!

Thanks again for all the tips. Cant wait for it to get under 100degrees in the afternoon to go do some desert blasting :)

Yeah, the ones on autoweapons and some other sites probably buy them from hkspecialist, then mark them up a ton and try to resell them elsewhere to people that don't know where else to look.

But as for the French stock - I actually like it. It increases the length of pull by about 2", and is more comfortable to shoot for some people with monkey arms. :)

I agree. My duty SMG wears the French stock and I'm very happy with it.
