Nobody? Yeah, ok. When I was gonna get into an HK MP5, late 2017, you could find them new for $1950 plus shipping. Unfortunately the house needed a new roof and $20K later I had to rebuild my gun fund. 10 months later because they are in demand I’m supposed to pay 2900.00+ - NOPE. Let me say that again - NOPE.

i shoot all my guns, not interested in setting up a safe queen with all the goodies to sell off to the next guy to shoot it! Love my PTR-9CT, runs great out of the box after a spring change. And I love the rail, saved me money, time and effort, red dots easily cowitness if you like that kind of thing. For the 6-8 times a year I get to shoot, my PTR scratches the itch just fine.

A guy at my range has a POF, put a lot of money in it to make it run, his words not mine. By the way, he liked my trigger better! Lots of threads here about folks having issues with everything from POF to MKE to PTR and even the revered HK, they all make guns that have issues……

Love my HKs, you should be glad that there are other makers in the market, should keep the pricing more in line with reality, American made or not.

Besides, all HK fans ( myself included ) for all selections are one law away from never seeing another German product again, the German government does not like them exporting arms, period, let alone to civilians in any country - when that happens, and HK makes them here, will an American MP5 be all that then…………learned a long time ago, don’t speak for others, when you do you are more than likely going to be wrong.

If you're going to actually shoot it, it makes sense to get the higher quality gun then.
Let me repeat, NOPE.

Not at that price point, the HK just isn’t for me. Had a S&W 500 magnum for a while too, fun to shoot, just not worth the $2-3.50 per round to do so. Sold it for more than I paid, sold my Colt SSA first gen .357 the same way, more than I paid.

For some the juice may be worth the squeeze, not me.

Besides, my PTR shoots just fine.

Counterfeit. I like it, mine runs great, only had to change a bad extractor spring. Nice to know the US can “steal” from other countries and build a nice unit With a lifetime warranty and ready for any type of action right out of the box…….. I no longer have a clone, a copy or just an MP5, I have a counterfeit, I like it!

The LGS was asking $2,000 for the PTR. That charging handle hangup was a big NOPE. Something was not right with that gun internally. If a gun doesn’t function 100% reliably from the factory it has no value to me. Others may disagree but we all have opinions.
$2K for a PTR is crazy, but asking ain’t getting, as for the issue, I agree no one wants a headache, new or someone else’s! I just found your other comments funny, I have a very twisted sense of humor.

Been reading the boards for a long while now, lot’s of issues from all manufacturers are hitting the market, sad state, but true. Seems that the beta testing is done with the first round of sales of anything new and anymore the price point just doesn’t matter. The failure rate is likely the same in higher cost items, it is a smaller sample size so there are not as many ‘experiences shared’.
