My understanding is that if I want to run my Zenith as a sear host, I need to weld a shelf over the pin hole in the receiver and then remove the full auto carrier block at the rear of the receiver. I know adding shelves are a common procedure, but does anybody have any experience removing the block?

Wow, really interesting read. Do carrier blocks differ between Zenith versions? Does the SP5K have a block as well?

The ATF is such a mystery.

The earlier ATI MKE have different style carrier block than the Zenith MKE, but do the same thing. Even the SP5K will keep the F/A carrier from being inserted into the receiver except it has a small pin at the top of the receiver.

It's just a couple of weld points i believe. Should be pretty easy to take out.

DS
As far as those weld points go, I can see one at the rear of the receiver near the "nub" that prevents the FA carrier from going in. Is the other one at the bottom of the receiver?
