416 handguard screw (cross pattern) - Airsoft**; maybe a bit blasphemous but hear me out

So before y'all burn me at the stake - I thought "it's cheap and I'll gamble it's the right size/thread pitch" - and I was relieved to see it was.

I saw these 416 airsoft handguard screws that have the cross pattern which I wanted for the ability to field strip using the bolt head instead of some other tool. Full CNC machining, manganese phosphate surface treatment and made from alloy steel.

Compared to an MR556 screw, they both weight 12grams, they both have identical measurements, and they both feel sturdy.

Am I saying this is as good as German? No. Am I saying it's comparable and in all likelihood will work for significantly less, and more readily available? More than likely. I'm willing to run it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Here's pics of measurement and fit/finish compared to an MR556 handguard screw

The lengths are marginally different, but it has no affect on fitment.

Even fits a 416 bolt head like I wanted (ignore how I have no cam pin or anything and the bolt head is rotated wrong, threw it in for demonstration)

Unrelated to the blasphemy in question, however, I must say, you take some pretty solid pictures!

In the past, I've handled an airsoft Geissele SMR replica, and I hate to say it, but they're higher quality than I would have expected. It didn't have the cross bolt, so I never got to compare that to my genuine one, however, the rail itself felt really well made. Probably wouldn't put the rail on my rifle, but I don't really see a problem with using the bolt as long as it fits.

Yeah I was looking at the site and looked at those as well and they're just showing actual Geissele rails with the word Geissele blurred out 🤣 made me wonder if they're basically a real rail or if they're doing a bait and switch.
But the screw I got is a no brainer to me; for $16 shipped and for the quality of it I'm very pleased compared to the one I saw on GB a few weeks ago for $75. I also think they have the SMR rail screws as well so may be worth getting one to check it out.

And thanks! Doing what I can with a cellphone lol. The contrast/exposure is a bit too high in some just cause the black on white, but I tried to get it so you could still see what's going on

HKparts.net is not a reputable source to purchase HK products?
Well...they have a reputation alright... 🤣

But in all seriousness, they're fine for stuff that's branded or easily identifiable, but the unbranded or "HK Parts" branded stuff can sometimes be, well...like archer said.

Just make sure whatever you order actually matches what you get
