Actually a nice find there & alot better than the nasty MR flathead bolt
However using an expensive 416 bolt head as a tool just makes me cringe
Just pay a few dollars for a proper removal tool

 

Yeah I'd be cautious of using the bolt head, but I wanted the option. I figured it doesn't need to be super torqued down or anything, the tolerances on the handguard alone keep it pretty rock solid

 

Unrelated to the blasphemy in question, however, I must say, you take some pretty solid pictures!

In the past, I've handled an airsoft Geissele SMR replica, and I hate to say it, but they're higher quality than I would have expected. It didn't have the cross bolt, so I never got to compare that to my genuine one, however, the rail itself felt really well made. Probably wouldn't put the rail on my rifle, but I don't really see a problem with using the bolt as long as it fits.

Yeah I was looking at the site and looked at those as well and they're just showing actual Geissele rails with the word Geissele blurred out 🤣 made me wonder if they're basically a real rail or if they're doing a bait and switch.
But the screw I got is a no brainer to me; for $16 shipped and for the quality of it I'm very pleased compared to the one I saw on GB a few weeks ago for $75. I also think they have the SMR rail screws as well so may be worth getting one to check it out.

And thanks! Doing what I can with a cellphone lol. The contrast/exposure is a bit too high in some just cause the black on white, but I tried to get it so you could still see what's going on

 

Some of you buy airsoft parts marketed as “HK parts” from a certain vendor here all day long without complaint (except for the problems after)- I don’t see an issue with this item.

 

Who is this vendor? You have me concerned lol. I hope I didn't buy one an airsoft handguard on accident.

But in all seriousness, they're fine for stuff that's branded or easily identifiable, but the unbranded or "HK Parts" branded stuff can sometimes be, well...like archer said.

I found a pretty nice airsoft A5 style rounded trigger guard. I even wrote a quick little review like this one.

Anyone know of a screw bit that fits like the 416 bolt? My wide flat head screws are still too thin and I end up mucking up the rail screw anyways…

 

I've used a Phillips head before, not ideal, but it kinda works. The easiest way I've found is using an AR bolt head -- you can always use a bolt out of another AR if you don't want to damage your 416 bolt.
