It's a nice build for sure. That hole that was drilled all the way through the shelf and a pin put in for the paddle mag release made it an illegal machine gun though in the eyes of the ATF unless they changed that law.
There is a legal way to do it. I believe he told me the hole does not go all the way trough on one side and has been modified to not accept the FA trigger pack.
Well done, looks like that was a lot of time and a few dollars, too. PTR receiver? What was the turnaround time from sending the parts in to receiving them back from black ops? Have you got a chance to fire it yet?
I guess I'll be the "richard" since I do this for a living.
Constructive critic as noboby will really say what they think.
It does look like a nice build but by the OP's own pics....
The engraving or whatever it is looks like tiny drops of wax (not even DOT matrix)
Unfinished mag catch with rust
The paddle pin showing in a hole that isn't round then "staked" (to hold it in?)
Just sayin for the time and $ this shouldn't be like this IMHO.
Bash away....
MM
I don’t want to bash the OP’s rifle but I would have to agree. As a hobby builder I’m wondering what ups with the same issues, especially for the price. I’m not sure how the engraving was done but it does look a little rough. Next time check out a laser engraver. I have been using one for my past couple of builds and they come out really clean.
Looks nice, I have one question. Why did the builder stake the paddle release pin, instead of welding it in?
