CC9 Extractor Edge

I can't tell if my CC9's extractor's leading edge sustained damage during my first 200 rounds of CCI Blazer Brass Case 124 grain FMJ or if this is how it was designed. When I was cleaning it after the range I noticed what looks like a divot on the leading edge of the extractor (see attached photos). I contacted HK customer service and they suggested sending it back in without opining if there was damage or not. Before I do that, could a few of you respond with photos of the leading edge of your CC9's extractor before I take the next step? Thank you!

I appreciate the prompt reply. I can't believe that I was the first person to question that on this forum and that my aging eyes even saw it. I guess with HK, there's a reason for everything in their designs, although I'm now interested in the "why". Thank you again.

Thanks everyone. I've had zero issues with case extraction, just a curious observation upon cleaning and close inspection. 🔍

Thank goodness for this forum. I was just cleaning mine and noticed the same exact thing on my extractor. Looks like a chipped tooth. I took a close up picture of it below. I was about to get ready to call HK tomorrow and ask about it.
I am now wondering why HK was going to have you send it to them. Let me know if you do

Thanks

I bet they were erring on the side of caution or perhaps this was their first encounter with such an issue. I dunno. But It was basically a canned reply;

Valued HK Customer,

Thank you for contacting Customer Success Team. I would suggest calling in and getting an RMA to have the firearm looked at and repaired if needed. We can be reached at 706-701-5554 between the hours of 9:30AM to 4:30PM EST

Best Regards,
