Saw this on ARFCOM, Vickers tactical posted it on Instagram. Anyone hear anything else?
Are you referring to me?I don't know why you tag the guy and call on him to respond in this thread- I actually think that's in poor taste. I don't need a response for my issue... and it's all in the past now.
To preface this post, I have no personal affiliation with Dakota Tactical. If anyone made it this far in this thread, and you are considering a 33/93 build, go with Michaels Machines or Dakota tactical. No one is perfect, be forewarned.
Yeah, don't know why no one wants to do a HK33 clone. Maybe the previous ones didn't sell well?In my opinion, Century is dragging their feet on this, seeing as they teamed up with PTR to build G3 FMP kits instead of importing the MKE G3's. At the least we could expect to have seen the 5.56 models at SHOT, since those were already approved for import under Zenith, and bringing them in should not have entailed going back to square one.
I don't know. I emailed them yesterday and got this response, excuse my horrible typos. Who did you ask? Was it someone at shotshow?I heard from a century rep that they brought in a ton of 93 clone stocks and the mke stuff (93 clone pistols like JDI 55x) is set for 2024 q2.
I don't see it happening any other way. Will have to be converted units.I heard from a century rep that they brought in a ton of 93 clone stocks and the mke stuff (93 clone pistols like JDI 55x) is set for 2024 q2.
I read on another forum that MKE may establish a US subsidiary for import. Is that true? If so could explain lack of updates if the relationship with Century is going to end
Hmm...not for me.I fully agree with this statement. There’s something about the 5.56 platform that makes it much more aesthetically attractive than the others, even if it’s the less “iconic” variant.
I honestly think that as far as adoption, it got robbed by timing and circumstance.
From the videos I have seen the rifles will use PTR (which is green mountain) barrels.considering the way the ptr 93 went I’d say buy one and if the mke g3 comes to market you can always flip the century g3. Not saying the g3 version is gonna triple or quadruple in price like the ptr 93 did but it should go up in value depending on build quality - quantity built and availability. To me I’d rather have a gun with fmp or Hk contract parts than ptr. I’m curious what barrel is going to be used for this century ptr build. this is a much cheaper solution than sourcing parts then paying for a build.
I used to feel the same way till I got some trigger time behind a 93, very smooth operator.Hmm...not for me.
The small long magazine just doesn't look right compared to the full-size straight mag.
Maybe it's just me, but not a fan of 5.56 in any platform.
This just looks perfect to me -

that is very interesting, curious why they aren’t using their own since they’ve been making them- cost can’t be cheaper to out source I’m thinkingFrom the videos I have seen the rifles will use PTR (which is green mountain) barrels.
I was told by Dave at JDI there are no new approvals of imported pistols like the SIG 55X under the Biden aministration. He already has the import approval to import the Sig 550P, Sig 551P, Sig 751P, Sig 553P as pistols. He was unable to get approval to import the Sig 750P or the Sig 751P in 6.5 Creedmoor. The Sig 751P in 6.5 Creedmoor was not approved or disapproved. In my opinion, Century is dragging their feet on this, seeing as they teamed up with PTR to build G3 FMP kits instead of importing the MKE G3's. The 75X not being approved in 6.5CM is old news by about 2-3 years or so. He had those guns re-marked and rebarreled to be brought in.I was told by Dave at JDI there are no new approvals of imported pistols like the SIG 55X under the Biden aministration. I asked him this question because I was hoping to see the Polish Grot and the Malasian FN FNC to be imported to the USA as pistols. He said it would not happen under the Biden administration.
I guessing the Zenith approval to import the MKE T43 does not carry over to Century. Maybe that is why MKE and their MKE T43 was not at the Shot Show 2024.
What did you find out at Shot Show?I am keeping my fingers crossed that these will still be imported.
Talking to Century and MKE about it is high on my list for SHOT next month.
MKE did not attend Shot Show 2024. Not having a booth at Shot Show is a big deal because you lose your booth seniority and go to the back of the line for booth placement next year. The MKE T43 was not displayed at the Century booth either. A Century rep did not have anything positive to say about the importation of the MKE T43. If I remember correctly it was something about MKE pricing/cost of the MKE T43 to Century. What did you find out at Shot Show?
I trust "looks" are not as crucial for you as you make it out to be, and is simply hyperbole when selecting a battle rifle over an assault rifle, based on the aesthetic. We're talking cars and trucks here. Otherwise, the airsoft locker is down the hall.Hmm...not for me.

We were talking about aesthetics - but I have only Battle Rifles.I trust "looks" are not as crucial for you as you make it out to be, and is simply hyperbole when selecting a battle rifle over an assault rifle, based on the aesthetic.
