Hey y'all! Wanted to give a 2000 round range report on my USP 9 Tactical that I run exclusively suppressed with my SilencerCo Osprey. I picked her up back in February and so far, I have 2000 rounds through it. I've run 1500 rounds of 150 grain Federal Syntech and 500 rounds of 147 grain Fiocchi through it. Thus far, I have only ever had 2 failures to eject, both with 150 grain Federal Syntech which were back to back on the very first day within the first 100 rounds on the gun. Overall, I am extremely impressed and have kept everything completely stock on the gun other than adding a little hockey tape to the grip and swapping the factory tactical sights for a set of MeproLight Tru-Dot sights as I didn't like having all-blacked sights in combo with the suppressor. Overall, it definitely shoots best and extremely clean with the Federal Syntech. The Fiocchi has been unproblematic other than being extremely dirty and sending a good amount of gas/carbon back into your face. Needless to say, I'm an HK addict now and have already started expanding the collection with an SL8 for a conversion project and will be picking up an SP5 in the next few months as well. Big thanks to all of you guys on this forum for always making such informative posts, I read through quite a few before I ended up diving in and getting my first HK.

So you are correct:
1. I haven’t seen a 2000rd report on a USPT
2. You have it set up great and I prefer the meps you put on it
3. The tape is really hokey on that gun…;)
Tape aside, congrars on the Tac. 👍
1. I definitely should have put some punctuation in the title haha, I meant it like "My First Ever HK USP" - 2000 Round Review lol. The importance of commas strikes again!
2. Meps are great! Other than already being a couple years old (based on the letter date code) so I won't get the full life out of them.
3. I agree the tape is ugly as heck and looks silly I just have soft hands and the front/back texturing on the grip rubs 'em raw pretty quick. I figured this looked like less of a sin than slapping a hogue overgrip or something like that on it.

The tape is ugly. That's why I like it. It shows a purpose driven use rather than "OMG, I must protect my safe queen" use. Guns that look like they've been there, done that are far more attractive than NIB. Respect.
Maybe said another way, if it's stupid but it works, it isn't stupid.

Good pistol. Not a collector's item. Doing what it's meant to do. Congrats.

Agreed! The tape makes it an ugly duckling but it shows use and gives a little character. Like a jeep with some mud. Also great for those hot summer shooting days; I find the factory grip gets a bit slippery from sweat when shooting outdoors in the spring/summer. Ugly? Yep. Practical for wicking sweat and keeping a good grip? Yep. That's why I'll keep my fugly dirty tape all day long.
