Per the excellent advise of @Sextus, I am posting this here to attract more attention to the GG&G Group Buy!!!
We are currently at 57 of the 100 needed for GG&G to manufacture a metal, Mark 23 rail adapter for lights/lasers.
There is no obligation to purchase--- any purchases will be based on the design and cost of the units, and if they are to our liking.
I presume that, once 100 is reached, GG&G will want feedback from us as to the design, which will probably dictate cost.

So, I had a chance to dig through the box of misfit toys and retrieve my GG&G Mount.

Here are a couple of shots of the surgical work to get the DBAL to fit.

Here’s a closer shot of the group buy mount as listed in the post above:

FYI, they’re sold out, but maybe they’ll re-stock or post a WTB in the classifieds. This was the group buy from Gator33. I’d check w/ SEXTUS by PM to see if he thinks the adapter for Surefire might work. I don't know.

This mount didn’t require any adjustments to get a fit. Also, I like the slightly thinner profile and better finish than the rough powder coat on the GG&G. That said, anybody that wants it, as is, PM me. It’ll go cheaper than list.

There’s a threaded socket in the front of a MK23 trigger guard that the adapter screws into. Slides on, screws in.

I replaced mine with the one that was offered here in the group buy. Better fit than the GG&G adapter. It’s been a while, but if I remember correctly, I had to do a lot of surgery on the slots on the GG&G adapter to get my DBAL-PL to fit. Slow afternoon with a jewelers file set to open up the slot I needed.

New adapter here w/ DBAL-PL. Sorry, I don’t have any detail about the LBT Holster. I Franken-rigged a Blackhawk for mine because I hate leg straps and this fits a 2” belt. Plus, it’s adjustable for your choice of light. Not the fastest rig, but a secure one.

THE MARK 23 G,G&G ADAPTER - adapter!

As some of you may well know from my 3-D Printed Mark 23 adapter......I'm kinda long-winded. That being said, got a wild hair up my A** after the new metal adapter came out to be able to do what I always WANTED to do in the first place, make it Removable !!!

Without further adieu, and before I waste any more of my time (or yours) here is what I came up with in the garage. I made 5 of them. Stainless plates, TIG welded double nuts to fill the cap-head bolt cavity, and double-sided 3M tape. Now you can literally have it "both ways". Use the supplied 1/2x28 caphead bolt provided with the adapter OR try this Drop-In kit (with supplied ThumbWheel that passes thru the threaded insert in the t.g.) if you mount a Laser that you want to be able to 'dismount' but still have confidence in keeping zeroed.

The photos are "in the white" as I thought the concept would be clearer, but flat black spray paint has been applied and they're drying now in the Florida sun. To be frank, they are hand-made and quite inelegant, but perfectly functional.

If you're interested, P.M. me. Thanks for looking.

Mike

So it looks like the G,G&G adapter has been released and is out on the market. Congrats to them and I welcome the advent of a durable, metal adapter to those in our beloved MARK 23 community. I have no complaints, comments, or criticisms and will purchase it myself. (pledged 3 for a GROUP BUY, but with nobody out $$$...i'll try one)

When @Sextus first proposed this endeavor I pledged NOT to 'bump' my own thread and have not done so since 04/04/2017. I'm only posting here and now to remind anyone who is looking for a lower cost OR removable alternative that they remain available. Thanks for looking, CARRY, CARRY, CARRY in our ever-changing world, and most of all STAY SAFE !!!

P.S. - a HUGE "shout-out" to Sextus for forcing the issue and Agg's clout for 'carrying the mantle' and showing G,G&G the level of interest to get this into Production.

I could go for the "full body" design, my only thing is that I don't want it to get too heavy or clunky.

If they can make something that works and is sleek, I've got no issues with some of the finer details.

And I do believe we are just talking amongst ourselves. I think @AGG is organizing the buy with GG&G.
