My P30SK has a horizontal pin next to the safety block I can't drive out. I'm installing a GG short reset kit so want to use their firing pin block spring. I've never seen this "extra" pin in other slides, don't want to force anything and can't find any instruction unique to the P30SK slide, just full size models (which don't appear to have this pin). I'd like to take the entire slide apart for cleaning while I'm away it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

There was a post here a few weeks back talking about this . That is the first I'd heard of this extra pin. Try using the search function and see if you an can find something inn the mean time .

I'll post how I make out thanks

Got it apart but man none of my 1/16" punch's worked without getting wedged in much too tight for my comfort. All's well that ends well and glad I found the above instructions. It's funny, I googled all over on my ipad to no avail, happened to try later on my phone and it was the 1st hit. Go figure.

Can't say I'm overly impressed with the short reset kit. It's a bit shorter than factory but doesn't feel smooth on the way back out and there's a lot of take up after the reset. I'll reach out to Grayguns because their products are top notch.

Thanks Crashmc for responding, much appreciated.

Other HK models don't have what's circled in red. See link in post #3 abov

Here's a link for the disassembly of a standard P30 slide, you'll see it doesn't have a firing pin safety (not to be confused with firing pin block safety).

Maybe someone can explain why the P30SK has a firing pin safety in addition to the tradition firing pin block safety?

Yes, I saw that.
So it's ONLY the SK and not the SKS

My image above was of a SK but the Safety SK model ... P30SKS
Is it also a SK v SKS thing or a change in the SK?

My SKS has a pin in that hole behind the extractor. But it's apparently much shorter and does not go into that cradle
or as I read the above .. after one pushes the rollpin in, then it shows up in the cradle.
