I bought an HK 416 22LR 2 weeks ago. Took it to the range last weekend and put 200 rounds through it. Brought it back to the range this weekend and the grip came off. More like fell off after pulling it out of the bag. Attempted to put re-attach grip but no luck. Used red loc-tite on the nut and put it back in. Let it sit for 6 hours. Put the grip back on. Thought at first is would be fine but came back off again within minutes. Tried again using more loc-tite and going to wait longer this time around.

Store I bought it from recommended a gunsmith or said they could send the gun to the manufacturer. Has anyone had this happen before or have any other suggestions??

Stop with the Loctite. I’d just send it back for warranty repair/work. That said, this sounds strange to me.

Sounds like the grip screw locking hex nut is spinning within its detent; I don't believe the nut or screw threads are stripped. I take it this gun has one of the newer Umarex plastic lower receivers vs. the Walther which has a metal lower. Like @LCSO264 said, don't mess with Locktite and have this gun serviced under warranty; pretty sure they would have a fix for this.

FYI, this is the Walther (Mfg) with metal lower shown below.

Mine is definitely the plastic lower. There is nothing designed to hold the bolt in place like on the metal. Thanks for sending the pictures!

Bought mine yesterday at Cabela’s , shot 20 rounds today, went to take the magazine off, the gun fell to the ground and the grip stayed in my hand. Very upset at the quality. Grip attaches to a plastic piece….

I have one of the older 416 22s. The early Walther ones. As much as I love shooting it, and as much fun as it is, they are only a couple notches above an airsoft, kind of like a 22 long rifle caliber “airsoft”…🫤

did your grip come with the knot/grooves? I'd reach out to the manufacturer since it shouldn't come off like that and you already tried to put it back. Don't bother mess with it anymore
