I finally have my dream rifle complete and back in my possession. This is my MR762 turned Hk 417 Assaulter build made by Black Ops Defense.

Wes Pritts and his team were very professional and knowledgeable and I completely trusted them with my most expensive, investment grade firearm. I highly recommend Wes and Black Ops Defense. He spent countless time on the phone and emailing me. He is passionate about Hk and highly skilled. I just can’t recommend him enough for all of your Hk builds. This thing is SO perfect. As far as I am concerned this IS a factory Hk gun -it was done so well by Black Ops Defense.

Dang, just discovered BlackOps Defense. Impressive stuff. How do they re-do the markings? Are they welding and re-lasering the lower itself?

And then, obviously, how's the serial number legality managed?

So nice. Too bad we can't have this setup in CA beacuase I would be next in line to get one made.

Technically you can have it, but you can never put the upper on the lower (legally).

Unless there's something to do with remarking the model number?

IF HK sold stripped lowers (they won't), then you can have this as a pistol in CA, conceivably.

Hey man. They have templates for all of the Hk logos. They laser them on. As for the serial number, it is the same as my MR762 before the mods by black ops. So, in summary, same serial number and they laser engraved all the hk417 German markings and fire selector lever etc. I opted for no ambi mag release, so no welding was done on my firearm.
