Wow :20000000:

Thank you for the imagery. What a site it all had to be. I saw that airburst gun in a completely unrelated article today and wondered what that thing was.

I'm working on some passes right now, I'm only 1.5 hours away. Let me know if your serious. You could do alot worst then vacationing on Clearwater Beach in January.

Thanks Lee for taking the time to share, those are some great pics.

What lower are you going to use? unless you make the lower yourself, there is no existing lower receiver on the market that will fit the 417....

Unlike the 416 which use a mil-std lower receiver, since the 308 was never officailly adapted by the military, there is no one set standard for the lower receiver to follow......

But there is some talk of making a one off run of HK 417 lower receiver in Us by a company....but then the parts kit are also hard to find and very expensive....you might be looking in the 9k for a build gun...

in some HK related neighborhood.....

Wilcox is in production for the HK45 and the 416 should be the next to come... hope with finger crossed...

wilcox build HK 416 rial system with embedded circuit which require no wires to power any Wilcox accessories attached to that rail.. all controlled by the switches on the vertical grip/bi-pod.

Prototype Granade launcher aiming module.

Once the distance is set in the rear control panel, the servo in the module will automatically swing to the proper angle to assist operator in getting the correct POA.

Image

This prototype unit will be move to a top mount configuartion with a much smaller foot print in the very near future, with the automated angle adjustment as part of the top mounted package.

Arms Show...

Excellent photos Lee,

I always enjoy the high resolution detail you seem to capture in each photo...

So I see HK is still messing around with the Air Burst Munitions technology...

Where are these usual places you speak of?

Great pics Lee.

Does it appear that there are buttons on the handguard of the G36?

I have to say, I think the standard folding stocks look better then this new folding/collapsing one.

Looks pretty standard, except for the future warrior stuff. I hope the Bundeswehr isn't headed down that path, look at the failure of the Land Warrior project.

I do like the looks of bits and pieces, the Grenade Holosight and the stock on the G36 that has adjustable LOP. Hopefully the original sight/optic/carry handle will fade into the past.

Jury's still out on the XM25 concept. I think the 203 platform will be around as long as the M4 platform is there to sling it under. Advances look like improved sights and multi-purpose ammo.

The G36 pictured in the German Army booth is the newest verion of the German "Infantryman of the Future" program. It has embedded cabling to "make hot" the metal top rail and forearm wherein the powered accessories mounted on these rails are powered by a single rechargable battery housed in the new buttstock. The push buttons on the foreend control the functions of the soldier system contained on the helmet and in the troops equipment.
