The description in the linked webpage says ‘cerakote finish’.
Not clear to me if that means the slide, the frame, or both, but maybe that is the reason for the
green looking a little off and not like the ones sold by Rooftop.

My biggest issue with these new ODG/FDE frames isn't the color of the frames, I like both...It's the coating on the slides...For some reason the slides look way cheaper now. I don't even mean compared to the maritime finish, even the regular coatings HK was using from say 2006-2019 looked different and better. The new slide just look...cheap, I dunno.

I totally agree with you , my older mk23 slide is superior in finish to my fde .
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this! I know a lot of people don't care, but if we are paying $2,000+ for one pistol I think we have a right to nitpick.

My new ODG mk23 slide is painted with, I assume, cErApAiNt and is ****tily applied. Way too thick, its orange peely. I'm gonna mill it for an optic and put front serrations in it, then park it, or gunkote. maybe nitride if I can find a place that will return my calls.
Yes orange peely is a good way to describe it. If you look at the slides from these colored frame Mark 23s up close they have this weird bumpiness to them, like not totally smooth. All my old USPs and Mark 23s are totally smooth and pristine even after use...These Mark 23 look crap straight from the factory.

This is honestly the only reason I haven't bought one of these colored frames yet. I keep circling back to the older ones.
