Wait do people actually leave these on the gun? I assumed it was some sort of marketing attention-getter to differentiate the HKs in the display case or something.

 

I put them on my carry guns. The cc9 is quite pleasing to look at but the 6” colt python is unbeatable with an hk band at a bbq.

 

IDontHaveTheTrunkSpace - The one that came with my "NATO Green" P2000 is buried at the bottom of my gun parts box, but I do see people posting photos of their HK guns with them on.

 

New production items will come with it, not sure when it started... but I think it's been a year or two since I first saw them in photos. I finally got one on my Expert, it was born in October of this year. I have seen them on guns in the show case at LGS, but I usually order my guns and the Expert was the first to have it in the box. It's a cheap attention getter for the display case, and if an inexperienced person was looking for an HK specifically, it is easier with the band. I don't see a practical purpose for it, and it would bug me if I left it on the grip, 100%.

 

Leaving the band on is the equivalent of Dodge Charger/Challenger owners leaving the plastic shipping covers on their bumper.

 

Could someone try pulling one of these over the receiver of an autoloading shotgun, please?

The rubber bands from asparagus work pretty well, but, well, HK.

 

Seems like some manufacturers used to put different color ones on new guns as opposed to factory refurbs (Sig maybe ?). So the red lettered one that came on my USP Expert 45 is in the box with all the other "case candy" for if I ever want to sell it.

 

I thought it meant that is was a factory rebuild. lol. 😂
