Do you have your thumb on or very near the slide release when shooting ?

 

No hand wife video me shooting bc I have read that happens sometime. Read a post about over oiled so completely disassembled the lower.(had to buy the barrel spring pliers) cleaned everything really good reassembled the pistol and shot 50 plus rounds thru it. Still same issue with the slide.

 

Clean the inside of the mags. The follower might be stopping on carbon build up near the feed lips. Could be a bad spring too on the slide lock.

 

I guarantee you that you’re choking up on the slide lock. It doesn’t take much. I’ve actually had to teach myself to adjust my thumb to avoid riding the tab. Try taking your thumb completely away from the slide lock, or just shoot it with your off hand and see if it still happens

 

While this IS likely the problem for many, I've started a collection of VP9/P30 magazines that will not reliably lock to the rear at all regardless of grip; during live fire free of the slide stop or when simulating dry on an empty chamber and mag.

 

I have 6 mags and it dose it with all 6. I am wondering if my slide lock is worn-out. If I manually lock it back and shake the pistol it will slide forward. Set it down after firing a cause and it sometimes slides forward. Drop the empty mag and it will slide forward. I was in an instructors class and had this happen repeatedly. Switch to my G17. I really love my VP9 and was upset by this issue.

 

More than likely you're doing it with your hands. I had to readjust my grip for the VP9.

 

Yeah it reads like ther is an issue with the mechanical slide stop. I’d call HK on that.

FYI sent VP9 to HK and slide release was worn out. HK fixed the issue and returned firearm. Thats impeccable customer service. HK is quality all around.
