Is a HK33K worth it?

I may have an opportunity to acquire a HK93 in trade. As I already own a HK53, is it worth building a HK33K? If anything, I'd just keep an A2 stock on it while just cutting down the barrel.

For full auto use the double buffered V33K was a nice fit, however, unless you are putting an A3 stock on it and/or using with sear (the lower impulse of the shorter barrel) not sure if worth the cost of cutting / changing the barrel vs just leaving as an HK93. Now the HK33K is not in the same world as the HK53, the HK33K is a lots nicer behaved firearm IMO ;-)

I would agree as long as the poster will be suppressing, shooting on full auto and/or uses an A3 stock and needs a more compact rifle ... for just a range rifle probably not worth the loss in the tax stamp and labor charges, in particular if the poster did not already have one or more HK93s. Now if the rifle needs a new barrel, that might be another reason why.

Are you changing the locking piece when you add the suppressor? I'm guessing you are using a #3 in your 33K? At least that is what I have. I use a #8 for a 33K suppressed. The can is going to act like increasing barrel length. So a LP for full length rifle barrel seems to work for my 33K suppressed.

In the video were you trying to get singles or bursts with the 33K in auto? A method I learned for singles, here at HK Pro, is putting your trigger finger a little deeper into the trigger. Use the second section of your trigger finger instead of the end pad on the trigger. You can feel the trigger break over. When it does, let off the trigger slightly. It also helps keep less movement of the gun. The trigger pull for the next shot is right there without extra take up. I can get singles consistently with my MP5K during subgun matches with this technique. YMMV.

A HK53k (not a factory guns) is a MP5 size 223 (5.56) with a shorter carrier and very short barrel (5.5"??)
A HK53 is a MP5 size 223 (5.56) with a short carrier and a 8.5" barrel (more or less ;_)
A HK33K is the "full size" 223 (5.56) with a shorter barrel (nominal 12")
A HK33 is the "full size" (i.e. same as HK93 more or less) 223 (5.56) with a 16" barrel (actually the military guns were 15.5" more or less)

I have a 53 and 33k, I liked the 33k not alot of people get them done I think it only shortens the barrel 16 to 12.5 inches but It looks cool and stands out in a crowd.

I have. 93 53 volmer and a 33k that Jeff Walters built for me. The 33k is great to shoot. I love the 53 so much I am having Jeff build me another one and I am putting my Volmer away for safe keeping. I have a Fleming seat pack and mp5 mp5 reverse stretch 53 33k 33 g3 g3k and now a 51. By far the most fun is my reverse stretch but the 53 And 33k are right up there it is a great gun to shoot full auto.

I just dropped off a HK93 at TSC machine to get the 33K treatment; I was lucky to score an original HK UK 1/7 barrel from the parts forum here. Mike said he turns the majority of the HK93s he receives into 53s but 33Ks and even 33s are requested on a regular basis. After seeing the beautiful batch of 53s he is working on currently I am feeling the fever for a second 5.56 HK...

Unfortunately, the HK93 trade never occurred, but you've all convinced me to build a 33K regardless! Was at the local gunshow, and saw an "ok" priced 93. Was tempted to buy it for the conversion, but a friend held me off saying that I should keep in mind that maybe I should hold out for a 1/7 gun rather than the 1/12 that I was looking at. What do you guys think?
