Does anyone on the board have a HK45 that they converted to the ambi or left hand safety? I am looking at buying a HK45 and would like to have one of these options since I am a southpaw. Thanks!

You might just call HK and ask them for the right side (left hand) decocking lever.

When I called HK, they said the ambi-lever was on backorder and may not be available for several months.

I asked them about the lever for the right side, they had it in stock. Painless purchase and I received the "southpaw lever" about one week later.

I bought one of the first hk45s out and got my ambi after about 2 months, after using it for a while I have found that the lever on the left is quite unconfortable when I decock so I found a right side USP lever and with very small modification, used it. like it lots better but sorry already sold my ambi. What did you have to pay for the lefty lever HK45C?

What did you have to pay for the lefty lever HK45C?
H&K Part #234-340 Control Lever (right side) $5.00
Shipping $5.95
Total $10.95

I was told by a few others that HK undercharged me because of a pricing error in their computer system.

From what I understand, the actual cost is a little more, but still worth the money.

Being left handed, the ability to convert the 45c to southpaw controls was the main reason I bought the pistol.

I want the safety lever ambi. Don`t think that even if obtaining only the lever it will work... The lever needs the longer shaft to hold to it , so, I guess that the complete kit is needed . I wonder why these parts are not available , since a lot of people want them , and HK has a factory here now, in the US , so what is the problem ? There is always something , isn`t ...?

The control lever and shaft are one piece.

I don't want you guys to take offense, but you are making a bigger deal out of this than what it is.

If you are a southpaw, buy part #234-340 and be done with it.

You will never use the lever anyway. You can carry cocked and locked, but with the double action trigger, why would you want to.

In a quick, save your life situation, it is easier to pull the trigger in DA than fumble around with any ambi-safety.
