Less Common Green Handle G3 Bayonet?

What is the significance of this 7-groove green handle bayonet with a plum blade? Is this a contract bayonet made for another country or did the German armed forces use it, too? There are no maker-marks or any identifying logos on the blade, handle, or sheath.

I have the identical bayonet with a blued blade and black handle; the same one that is commonly seen. I have never owned one of these green ones, though, until now.
