Got my brand new CC dated Mark 23 today.
Got home, took the grease off, oiled it up and hit the range a few hours later.
200rds of 230gr Blazer in the span of about 45min.
I put 200rds of the same ammo through my trusty USP .45 Tactical last week in anticipation of today so I could have a fresh comparison.
I really REALLY enjoyed shooting the Mark 23. Its far easier for me to shoot than the USP T - I do think that I could do "better" on that gun if I changed the sights out from the factory ones though.
At least, with the USP - its harder for me to shoot quickly because of the blacked out sights being just slightly harder to pick up after each shot. If I take my time, it is excellent and I do well.
With the Mark 23 - I found my arm being spattered with what looked like flakes from the finish and my hands/fingers being covered with powder/residue.
The trigger felt excellent! Love break & reset. Also really like the metal over the polymer from the USP. BUT it did start getting really hot by the end of the session.
Post range cleaning/wipe down/check - Found the usual wear spots wearing - but not nearly as bad as what I've seen some photos of. Granted - it was only 200rds.
I look forward to putting more time on this gun, and of course now have even more motivation for a .45 suppressor.
This is my 4th HK pistol (in order of purchase USPT .45, P30L, VP9sk, and now Mark23) and it is by far my favorite. Its been a long time of wanting and I'm glad I finally got one.
Edit to add photos from when I brought it home.. the USP is "wet" since its kind of in storage.
